Meeting 5

10.13.16

From the hours of: 6-7:30

I attended another junior varsity football game for an hour and a half. Within these two hours I continued to take action and candid shots of players and cheerleaders. There really was not as much excitement on the field or in the stands as there was in the previous game, but there was still something in the atmosphere and the players were always ready to get on the field. Within the 1.5 hours that I spent at the game, the lighting was extremely good at first, however, going on into the night it gradually got worse and more yellow from the lights shining onto the field. I learned that the farther zoomed out you are the lower your aperture is able to get therefore allowing more light to be let into the camera which also creates a depth of field effect. So, needless to say, I continued playing with my lighting. I also learned a few more tidbits about camera settings, like how to change where the camera focuses on objects which allows me to use the rule of thirds. I also learned about manual and Tv settings. Tv is just an aperture priority where the aperture is automatically adjusted for each picture to let in the most light possible. It was extremely helpful with the poor lighting of the football game. In the end though, the 1.5  hours that I spent at this game were beneficial to me and my overall capstone project. I learned more about lighting and camera settings, like Tv, that could be beneficial and useful to me in the future.
